Enrollment Philosophy and Admissions Process
Enrollment Philosophy and Admissions Process
Mount Carmel School’s administration of its educational policies and other school programs does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, physical impairment, or biological gender.
Mount Carmel School does require that students attend MCS by choice and be willing to live within the regulations set up by the administration. Students will be evaluated by any combination of the following:
Documentation of previous academic accomplishments, in-person interview, and on-site placement testing.
The typical Preschool-12th Grade US student accepted to Mount Carmel School is between the ages of 3 and 18, and the typical international student accepted to Mount Carmel School is between the ages of 13 and 18 at the time of enrollment.
Mount Carmel School encourages campus visits by parents/guardians to visit with administration, teachers, and students prior to enrolling students at Mount Carmel.
For acceptance of each student to Mt. Carmel School, four key questions are evaluated.
1. How will Mount Carmel School serve the student? This question is answered by the student’s willingness to be a contributing member of the student body, and their commitment to academic and spiritual improvement.
2. How will this student affect the MCS student body? Each student has influence in the student body. All students, especially upper grade students, need to be evaluated to ensure a healthy school environment.
3. How does this student fit into the Mt. Carmel School program? While students are sometimes accepted without an excellent academic or behavior record, Mount Carmel School’s goal is to academically equip and spiritually transform each student through the power of the Holy Spirit. The student must desire the same, and they must be willing to work with teachers and staff to achieve this objective.
4. Is the family committed to their student attending Mount Carmel School? To be accepted, parents/guardians must agree to pay the tuition amount determined by the business manager based on their specific financial status. Families must also support Mount Carmel School’s program, and be willing to work with the headmaster, principal, dean of students, and teachers as they train their student.
