LEAVE IT TO the seniors to come up with an idea like this:  combine a fundraiser and an opportunity to minister.  On Wednesday afternoon, April 25, several of the seniors went to the Lafayette Mall and handed out tracts.  They had lined up sponsors who would pay them for each track hand-delivered to a real person. (Mannequins don’t count!)  Participating seniors included Sarah Nero, Lucianna Pupu, Ivan Jang, Jake Kirk, Seungwon Lee, and Jordan Dunn, and they distributed about 75 tracts that afternoon.

WE ARE ONLY 500 points away from earning another $1400 toward supplies and equipment for the elementary school! Mt. Carmel works with a company that pays us cash for recycled inkjet cartridges, laser cartridges, old cell phones, laptops, and other electronic equipment.

So don’t throw it away! Instead of dropping them in the trash, drop them off at the school office. Every single item will go towards equipment for the school.

MT. CARMEL elementary school is engaged in several ongoing fundraisers. We want to make sure you are aware of them. Our students and their families work hard to continue to raise funds for the school. Perhaps you’d like to participate. It’s easy and doesn’t cost you anything extra. We participate in the following fundraising programs:

• Campbell’s Soup labels: They need the UPC or the “education” label from the product container.
• Our Family labels: They need the UPC from anything that is Our Family brand.
• Boxtops for Education: These are little rectangles on many, many products that ear the school $0.10 to $0.20 per label. They are on cereal boxes, Betty Crocker products, Kleenex, Ziploc bags, and many other things.
• Recycling printer cartridges: We get points for inkjet and laser printer cartridges that we send postage paid to Funding Factory. Normally, when we have 3500 points, we cash them in for $1400. Over the years we have raised $4200 with this. These funds are used for updating computers and accessories for the school.
