About Giving Online

Giving online is fast and easy and many people prefer it. No check-writing, no envelopes, no stamps. And you can always do it “right now.”

Please be aware, however, that this convenience comes at a price. Mt. Carmel uses the services of PayPal to collect online donations and PayPal charges service fees for each and every transaction. As a registered 501(3)(c) nonprofit, Mt. Carmel gets a discount on these fees. The following fees apply to all donations up to $100,000.

2.2% of total donation + $0.30 per transaction

Examples:

• You give a $50 donation.
  PayPal charges $1.40 ($1.10 + $0.30).
  Mt. Carmel receives $48.60.
  You will be receipted for $48.60.
• You give a $100 donation.
  PayPal charges $2.50 ($2.20 + $0.30).
  Mt. Carmel receives $97.50.
  You will be receipted for $97.50.
• You give a $500 donation.
  PalPay charges $11.30 ($11.00 + $0.30).
  Mt. Carmel receives $488.70.
  You will be receipted for $488.70.
